June 5 10:00am 5:00 pm The Historical Society is partnering with the Auxiliary of the Corning Hospital for a tour of six Corning and Town of Erwin homes and a beautiful Church. June 19 10am-3pm The restoration of the Cooley Blacksmith Shop, moved from Beaver Dams, NY, June 16, 2009 to the grounds of the Patterson Inn Museum is nearly complete. Festivities for the day include a ribbon cutting ceremony and donor plaque unveiling. Video and displays in Inn exhibit room. Blacksmithing demonstrations. Children’s activities, food, music. September 11 & 12 This year is the 30th Whingblinger event. To celebrate, we’re having a two day event, 10:00am - 4:00pm each day. Both days will feature traditional craft demonstrators, music, food, Colonial re-enactors, working blacksmith shop, country store, raffles and children’s activities. There will be a flea market Saturday and an auction of finer items crafts and antiques, and business services on Sunday. We have a Civil War era chaplain who will conduct a church service in the Browntown schoolhouse on Sunday morning and we’re doing a pancake breakfast December 4 10:00am 3:00 pm Holiday celebration at the Patterson Inn.
